History

North Of Watford Actors’ Agency is one of the longest running co-operative agencies in the country. In 2009 we celebrated 25 years in the industry.

We were established in 1984 by a group of actors living in the North who were keen to have greater autonomy over their careers and the opportunity of helping young actors starting out on theirs.

Location

Located in Hebden Bridge, North Of Watford is ideally situated half way between Leeds and Manchester with a good rail link and easy access to the M62 and M1. We have good working relationships with Granada TV, YTV and the BBC as well as the many theatres - whilst not forgetting that our actors are excellent travelers and work all over the UK and worldwide!

Work

Over the last year North Of Watford members have appeared on television in amongst others, Waterloo Road, Emmerdale, The Chase, The Royal, The Royal Today, Heartbeat, Coronation Street, Strictly Confidential, No Angels, and Where the Heart is.

Our actors have recently appeared in theatres nationwide including THE HARDER THEY COME (Theatre Royal Stratford East), WIND IN THE WILLOWS (Basingstoke Haymarket), BE MY BABY (Gala Theatre), INNIT: URBAN MUSICAL (The Lowry Theatre) and LITTLE VOICE (Oldham Coliseum) amongst many others. Worldwide tours have taken our actors as far as China, Dubai, Spain and Canada.

Many of our actors regularly record for BBC Radio 4 and voice over production companies.

We regularly provide actors for the BA Broadcasting course at Leeds University and the Film and Video Production course at Bradford University in association with National Media Museum and BPP Law School in Leeds. This is in addition to numerous other role-play and corporate video jobs in a wide range of industry training.
