Menyee Lai joins stellar cast of Inside No. 9

North of Watford client Menyee Lai is to join the stellar cast of black comedy Inside No. 9 for season eight.

Writers Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton said: “We are thrilled to invite viewers inside a new set of funny and frightening number 9s; take your shoes off, make yourself at home and switch your devices to Do Not Disturb. Well, it might work…”

And Menyee is certainly in the best of company.

The talent included in its final series has been unveiled – and it includes Sherlock star Amanda Abbington, EastEnders actress Anita Dobson and House of The Dragon’s Phil Daniels. British comedian Asim Chaudhry, best known for his role as Chabuddy G in BBC Three’s People Just Do Nothing, is also in the cast list. Claire Rushbrook from My Mad Fat Diary, Star of Gavin and Stacey as well as Bad Education Mathew Horne are also in the line-up.

Frances Barber from Camille and Uncle Vanya, Leon Herbert of Salome’s Last Dance and Batman, and Menyee Lai from Stay Close and The Tower join the team across the five episodes.
Gregor Sharp, Commissioning Editor at the BBC, added: “Reece and Steve are masters of their craft and it’s a delight to see such a brilliant line-up of guest stars joining them for another series of perfectly formed dark comedy masterpieces.”

Inside No. 9 season eight will be available on BBC iPlayer in early spring.
